AHK MENA Business Forum in Berlin

The winners of the 1st German-Saudi Startup Competition, Lucidya and Labayh, and the female co-working space Sheworks were awarded as Top Five Startups of the MENA region at the AHK MENA Business Forum (April 12, 2018) in Berlin.

The Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) and the German Chambers of Commerce (AHK) from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) cordially
invited to the MENA Business Forum on the April 12, 2018 in Berlin.
Several high-ranking business representatives and politicians from Germany and the MENA region delivered keynote speeches and participated at the different panels. The focus was on the business and investment potential of the Maghreb and North Africa as well as on the economic transformation of the Gulf region. The Forum was be concluded with an exclusive
Arabia Lounge and the awards ceremony for the best MENA Startups.
In a pitch session the best startups from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt competed against each other and presented their business ideas to the high-ranking business audience. While all three Saudi startups - Lucidya (Abdullah Asiri), Labayh (Basim Albeladi), and Sheworks (Maha Shirah) ranked under the Top Five, the Children's edutainment app Lamsa from the UAE won the competition.
